The C-terminal 17 residues of AsiA are not required for middle promoter activation in vivo. Shown are portions of gels displaying the primer extension products for the T4 middle promoters Pm55 and Pm46 obtained from RNA isolated after infection with either T4 amS22 (asiA-) or wt T4.
