The functional activity of (A) selected Rev–NL4-3 RRE pairs, (B) selected Rev–6-AG RRE pairs, or (C) cognate pairs were plotted as a function of the Rev steady state levels. The degree of correlation was calculated by performing a linear regression. The quantification of steady state expression for the various Revs was performed by Western blotting as described in the legend of Figure 7. The values for Rev steady state levels represent the average of three different determinations.
