Q7 does not induce cell death. The results show that Q7 cytotoxicity was low or negligible on a vascular endothelial cell or vascular smooth muscle cell line, respectively. Q7 cytoxicity was determined by MTS assay. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) (a) and A7r5 vascular smooth cell line (b) were incubated in the absence or in the presence of Q7 (10−7 to 10−4 M) for 48 h. Cyclophosphamide (Cyclo; 10−4 M) was used as negative control and epirubicin (Epirub; 10−5 M) as positive control. The cells were seeded at 50% density.
