The wild-type strain BKE32550 (ΔyurJ) and BKE38810 (ΔmsmX) were cultivated in LB with or without 0.2% lupin galactan with a starting OD₆₀₀ of 0.05 and were induced after 2 h of incubation at 37°C. The β-galactosidase activity of GanA was measured in crude extracts after 6 h of induction.
