Cytokine profile in the heart of T. cruzi-infected AhR KO and WT mice. WT and AhR KO mice were infected with 1 × 10³ trypomastigotes. Total RNA was extracted from the hearts of T. cruzi-infected WT and AhR KO mice. mRNA levels of IL-12, IL-6, TNF, IFN-γ, and IL-17A (A) and of Foxp3, IL-10, SOCS1, SOCS2, and SOCS3 (B) were measured 10 and 15 days postinfection (dpi). mRNA levels of IL-12 and IFN-γ were measured by RT-PCR, while the levels of the remaining cytokines were measured by qPCR. Data were normalized to those determined for uninfected WT or AhR KO mice and are represented as 2^−ΔΔCT values.
