Glutathione-dependent regulation of Atox1 and ATP7A/B. The redox state of the chaperone and the transporters depends on glutathione system. Glutathione pair is reduced by NADPH and catalyzes reductive disulfide break in Atox1 in a reaction catalyzed by Grx1 [7,16]. Grx1 also can regulate glutathionylation of ATP7A/B [73].
