Three-centreline method for measuring intervertebral disc space. On plain lateral radiographs, 2 straight lines were drawn using 4 landmarks (A-D). Three additional lines evenly divided the distance between the first two lines. Lengths at sites 1, 2 and 3 were averaged and scaled to obtain the intervertebral disc height.
