Fig. 7 — Calculated dose of fumonisins in rats fed the control diet in the first 13 weeks of the 1-year feeding trial. For the calculations, the amount of the fumonisins B₁, B₂ and B₃ were added up. The red line represents the lowest no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) value reported for fumonisin B₁ in rats, i.e. an NOAEL value of 0.2 mg/kg body weight/day for kidney toxicity in a subchronic toxicity study (Voss et al. 1995)
