The effect of chronic administration of TIQ (a) or 1MeTIQ (b) on 1BnTIQ-induced hyperactivity in rats. Rats received a single injection of saline (control). 1BnTIQ was administered at a dose of 25 mg/kg i.p. chronically for 14 consecutive days. In the mixed group, TIQ (a) or 1MeTIQ (b) (50 mg/kg i.p.) was chronically administered 20 min before each 1BnTIQ injection. Rats were placed into actometers immediately after the treatment. Movements were recorded for 45 min. The data are expressed as the mean ± SEM (n = 6 animals). The data were analyzed with a two-way repeated measures ANOVA, followed by Duncan’s post hoc test. Statistical significance: *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01 versus saline-treated group; + p < 0.05, ++ p < 0.01 versus 1BnTIQ-treated group
