Legend: *Rates prior to implementation of CDSS. PE: pulmonary embolism. ED: emergency department. ICU: intensive care unit. CT: computed tomography CDA; Clinical Decision Area. Association with a residency program refers to whether residents rotate through the ED. Hospitalization rate for PE refers to the percentage of PE patients diagnosed with PE in the ED between January 2014 to August 2014 who were then admitted to the hospital (this excludes patients admitted to a CDA and then discharged home).
