The MTT cytotoxicity assay was assessed in pairs of multidrug resistant cell lines and their corresponding parental cell lines, as well as in non-tumor cell lines. Cells were treated with or without increasing concentrations of asclepiasterol for 48h and cell viability was determined. A. MCF-7 and MCF-7/ADR cells. B. HepG-2 and HepG-2/ADM cells. C. HEK293, LO₂ and Chang cells. Inhibition of asclepiasterol on cell proliferation was calculated based on the absorbance ration between treatment and control. Values represent mean ± SD (n=6) of three independent experiments.
