In vivo confocal microscopy was used to assess the effectiveness of drug treatment in diabetic mice. Subepithelial corneal innervation was scrutinized and images were analyzed for total nerve length. Arrows in the representative images indicate the location of subepithelial nerves. Data for innervation are presented as the mean ± SEM and shown in mm/mm².
