The representative fluorescence images of each region are shown in panels (ac), where the dextran-rich phase is labelled in green. Scale bars, 50 μm. (d) The points in between the yellow dashed lines represent metastable dextran-in-PEG emulsions, which are stable for only 3–14 days.
