FIGURE 7: — Model for Mena^INV-driven cross-talk between EGFR and α5β1. Mena^INV-driven chemotaxis requires the dysregulation of PTP1B, which leads to increased phosphorylation of both EGFR and paxillin located at FXs. Mena^INV-driven haptotaxis requires EGFR-α5β1 cross-talk: in two dimensions, via dysregulation of PTP1B signaling at FXs, and in three dimensions, via receptor recycling. As a result, tumor cells expressing Mena^INV show increased invasion in response to both EGF and FN relative to each cue alone.
