Table 2.

Material parameters and area fractions of elastin, smooth muscle, and collagen for structure-motivated models of the V2 and V3 arterial segments. Material parameters (b, b11, b12, b21, b22, b31, b32, b41, b42, and α) were adjusted for best-fit of model predictions with experimental data, while area fractions were based on semi-quantitative histology on arterial samples. Note: It is accepted that the contribution of smooth muscle to to passive response of arterial tissue is negligible; therefore the area fraction of smooth muscle (φsm) was not utilized in the developed model and is included here only for completeness.
