Twenty-three individual multimode fiber-optic cables are butt-coupled to 23 LEDs without the use of opto-mechanical components. Each LED is turned on sequentially and used as an illumination source to create lens-free holograms of the objects on a complementary metal oxide semiconductor sensor array.
