Strain AE104 and its mutant derivatives were cultivated in TMM at 30°C without further additions or in the presence of added metal salts, and growth was measured as turbidity at 600 nm (Fig. 3). The mean data points of 3 reproductions were used to calculate the growth rate and duration of the lag phase.
