MT1-MMP activity is inversely correlated to the migratory potential of MCF-7 breast cancer cells (a) MCF-7 MT1-MMP cell lines stably expressing zsGreen were seeded on Alexa594-gelatin coated coverlips in media containing 0.1 % DMSO (control) or 10 μm BB94 and incubated in a live imaging chamber. Each sample was imaged at the same five stage positions every 10 mins for 20 h to visualize zsGreen cell movement and associated ECM degradation (Additional files 3, 4, 5 and 6).
