Therapeutic oral treatment with PXS‐4728A does not reduce emphysema. Mice were exposed to CS or normal air on 5 days per week for 12 weeks. For the last six weeks, mice were treated by daily oral gavage prior to CS‐exposure with PXS‐4728A, rolipram or vehicle. Lungs were perfused and emphysema‐like alveolar enlargement assessed by determining alveolar wall MLI in stained sections.
