Peripheral blood mononuclear cells from ACS patients and controls are analyzed by polychromatic flow cytometry, assigning CD8+ cells into maturation subgroups. The percentage of IL2+/IFNγ−, IL2−/IFNγ+, and IL2+/IFNγ+ cells among naïve (A), total effector (B), and total memory (C) CD8+ T cells was compared in a pilot cohort of ACS patients and stable controls. Significant differences were tested in patients enrolled in a replication cohort (D).
