Aft1 and Sef1 are needed for survival in human blood. Human blood was infected with the C. glabrata WT, aft1Δ, sef1Δ, and cth2Δ strains, and survival at 37°C was determined by CFU plating after the indicated time points (0 h, 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h, and 4 h). Data are shown as percent survival of the WT at 0 h (means ± standard deviation). Data represent results of a paired one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) of comparisons to WT results from the same time point (*, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; ***, P < 0.001).
