Topographic scalp map of the ERP non-word negativity (mean amplitude voltage difference between the invalid and valid preview conditions) when foveal load on word n was low (expected) over consecutive 100ms time windows from 250 to 1050ms. A widely distributed, but anteriorly focused, negativity can be seen observed between 350ms and 750ms following the foveal presentation of word n.
