Gene structure and functional protein domains of bZIP17 isoforms. bZIP17 SVs were identified as potential products of IRE1A through co-expression and co-splicing network analyses. a bZIP17 gene/pre-mRNA structure (exons are brown and introns are green) and the location of the predicted conserved motif in the R1 intron/exon splice junctions (teal circles) on the pre-mRNA. The predicted cryptic splice site is located in the middle of the second exon. b Protein isoforms encoded by the bZIP17.1 and bZIP17.N2 SVs with the location of a basic-leucine zipper domain. The interruption of the second exon with a short unconventional intron in bZIP17.N2 results in the truncation of this domain.
