Developmental recovery after pHi perturbation. Embryos were cultured for varying times in HECM-10 (H), HTMA (T), or HDMO (D), rinsed in HECM-10, returned to fresh medium, then cultured until 82 h PEA, at which time developmental stage was assessed. The letter in front of the slash indicates first culture treatment while the letter after the slash indicates culture treatment following rinsing. Numbers in parentheses are number of embryos. Time under columns is time of culture prior to rinsing. Data represent a minimum of three replicates per time point.
