A-B. Bone marrow chimeras were generated with WT and NLRP12-/- mice. Mice were then infected with 1 × 103 CFUs of K. pneumoniae/mouse i.t. and bacterial burden in the lungs (A) and spleens (B) were assessed at 48 h post-infection (A-B). In another set of experiments, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was collected and total white blood cell (C) and neutrophil numbers (D) were enumerated 48 h after the infection (n = 5-8/group). *, p<0.05; **, p<0.01;***, p<0.001.
