(A) Addition of incremental amounts of NaCl and 100 mM arginine to the control buffer and (B) addition of sugars and the effect of pH on the hydrodynamic diameter of mAb-J. All measurements were taken at 25°C. For panel A, mAb-J was prepared at 10 g/L in control solution (20 mM citrate-phosphate buffer containing 30 mM NaCl at pH 6.0) containing either additional NaCl (30, 60 and 100 mM) or 100 mM arginine. For panel B, additional 10% (w/v) sucrose and trehalose were added to the control solution with the pH adjusted to (5.0, 6.0 and 7.0). The error bars represent one standard deviation from 3 independent DLS measurements.
