Curcumin potently inhibits TGF-β2 induced secretion of collagen I. Mouse lung fibroblasts were treated with 10 ng/ml TGF-β2 alone or after pretreatment with 50 μM curcumin or 40 μM rosiglitazone, and the secretion of collagen I was determined by ELISA. ^#Significant increase after TGF-β2 treatment compared with control (P < 0.05, ANOVA).^∗Significant reduction after curcumin or rosiglitazone treatment compared with TGF-β2 alone (P < 0.05, ANOVA).
