Cultured H9C2 cells were pre-treated with a series of our herbal decoction (1 mg/mL) or ferulic acid (809, 5000 ng/mL) for 24 hours, and then exposed to tBHP (75 μM) for 1 hour. The pre-treatment of tBHQ (5 μM) was used for comparison. The results were in percentage of ROS formation relative to the control (with tBHP alone). Micrographs were taken by a confocal microscope. Bar = 100 μm. Values were expressed as mean ± SEM, where n = 3. *** p < 0.001, ** p < 0.01, * p < 0.05, as compared to the control. # p < 0.05, ## p < 0.01, as compared to DBTΔfa.
