Data was collected over a number of testing sessions. Thus, it was possible to analyze effects over the early versus later testing sessions. In the rule condition (a), an MMR was evident in later sessions at 222–334 ms. A LP can be seen in the left hemisphere channels but did not reach the criteria for inclusion across all electrodes, see Fig. 2 and text. For the pitch condition (b) an MMR was present in the early sessions at 165–314 ms but no significant difference between early and later testing sessions was found. Two LP components were present for the pitch condition, one at 463–506 ms and another at 597–754 ms. Further statistical analysis of these showed no difference over time for the component at ~500 ms while the LP at ~700 ms was significantly stronger in the later sessions.
