Li-induced autophagy is protective to astrocytes. Astrocytes were pretreated with Li (10 mM) for 1 h, after which they were treated with MPP+ (400 or 800 µM) and CQ (0.01 mM) for 24 h. Cell viability was determined using MTT assays and the absorbance was measured using a microplate reader.
