Either (A) cortical rat neurons or (B) rat astrocytes were exposed to vehicle (○; bdH₂O) or increasing concentrations of dendrons F4 (●) and F11(■) for 72 h. Cell death was measured as indicated in Material and Methods using LDH release as an index of cell death. Data represent mean ± s.e.m. of 10 to 12 experiments.
