(A) The amount of each HN protein was determined by western blot analysis at 24 h post-infection of Vero cells by using anti-SG10 serum. HAd (B) and NA activities (C) were examined in Vero cells infected with the virus at an MOI of 0.1 PFU/cell. HN protein expression level, HAd and NA activities of these viruses are expressed as percentages of the values for rNDV-SG10-HN571, which are deemed to be 100%. Each bar represents the mean and standard deviation of three independent experiments. Asterisks indicate the significance of the differences between the biological activity of a recombinant virus and that of the parental virus. P values were calculated with Tukey’s test (95% confidence levels). *p < 0.05, significant; **p < 0.01, very significant; ***p < 0.001, extremely significant.
