Note stable monolayer phenotype with zona occludins-1 (ZO-1) staining in a cobblestone pattern as expected for renal epithelial cells. Scale bar = 20 μm. (c) Transepithelial resistance (TEER) does not change after assembling the flow chamber prior to initiation of flow. TEER was measured for inserts under static conditions prior to assembly and then after assembly but before initiation of apical shear flow.
