Risk of ischemic stroke represented by hazard ratios for each risk factor component stratified by age. Among patients aged 20 to 49 years, the hazard ratios ranged from 1.59 for patients with hypertension to 2.67 for those with congestive heart failure compared with patients with a CHA₂DS₂‐VASc score of 0 (men) or 1 (women). AF indicates atrial fibrillation.
