(A) Relative expression of let7i in patients with acute ischemic stroke (n = 106) compared to vascular risk controls (n = 106). Let7i decreased in leukocytes of patients with acute ischemic stroke compared to controls (fold change = −1.70, p = 0.00001). A decrease in level of let7i correlated modestly with (B) an increase in NIHSS score at admission, (C) an increase in infarct volume (log10 mm3), and (D) an increase in plasma MMP9 (log10 pg/mL) in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
