Knockdown of ILK inhibited activity of downstream signaling targets protein: Akt, GSK-3β, and β-catenin. Bladder cells were transfected with nonsilencing control siRNA or three different 21 bp double-stranded siRNA targeting the ILK. Forty-eight hours after transfection, protein expression was analyzed by Western blot. Total protein loading was determined by probing the membranes for β-actin. Densitometry was used to normalize to β-actin protein level and for quantitative comparison after siRNA knockdown. Presented are representative membranes of at least three independent experiments with similar results
