Fig 5. Influence of compounds on the oligomeric state of BcGR.

Fig 5

Determination of the oligomerization state of BcGR in the presence of substrate and (1) or (2) complexes was confirmed by BN gel electrophoresis and chemical cross-linking analyses. In both cases protein samples (84 μM, in a final volume of 500 μl) were incubated with compounds in the ratio of molar concentration of protein (1:4) and in the presence of 30 mM D-Glu and loaded on a Superdex 75 10/300 GL column (Panels A and B show a magnification of the run, represented in the insets). Fractions corresponding to absorbance peaks were then analyzed by BN gel electrophoresis (C) and chemical cross-linking (D). The arrows indicate monomeric (1) and dimeric (2) oligomeric species.
