Formation of advanced sarcomeric structure and aligned myofibrils was evident in DEX treated plates at this early time point. (C) Based on functional measures of isometric tetanic force in DEX treated SMUs, the addition of 10nM DEX is optimal for SMU fabrication. Interestingly, the addition of 25nM DEX had a consistently detrimental effect on force production. Scale bars = 50 μm.
