Reduction of surface area of the synthetic skin sample during microwave heating (2–20 W) up to 120 s. Initial temperature of the synthetic skin sample was adjusted to 20, 25, and 30 °C. An increase in surface area (in %) denotes the physical expansion of the synthetic skin sample and a decrease in the surface area indicates the physical reduction of the synthetic skin sample.
