The FEN1 L209P mutation induces chromosomal instability and cellular transformation. (a) Spontaneous chromosomal breaks in SW480 cells expressing L209P or WT FEN1. The right panel represents the percentage of cells containing chromosomal breaks for WT and L209P FEN1-containing SW480 cells. A total of 50 metaphase cells was scored for each cell line. A total of 60 metaphase cells was scored for each cell line. (c) Tumorigenesis assay in vivo. The cells (10 million cells per mouse) were injected subcutaneously into 6-week-old female mice.
