LC-MS/MS analysis. To verify the presence of ODF1, SDS-PAGE was run from fertile sperm lysates. Gel fragments corresponding to the arrows labeled in Fig. 2 were excised and trypsin digested before analysis in LC-MS/MS. (A) In the 27 kDa bands, we detected six unambiguous peptides corresponding to ODF1. This equated to 36% sequence coverage. The MS/MS spectra for peptide DVTSYGLGSCVK (boldfaced/underlined in A) is shown in (B).
