Table 1. Relationship between functionality and sexual antagonism for neo-X-linked genes in Drosophila miranda.
| Functionality | Fb/Md* | Mb/Fd† | No conflict | Unclassified | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Functional | 29 | 51 | 865 | 4 | 949 |
| Pseudo | 16 | 13 | 287 | 17 | 333 |
| Total | 45 | 64 | 1,152 | 21 | 1,282 |
Sexually antagonistic genes in D. miranda were identified based on a homology search against D. melanogaster genes, among which Innocenti and Morrow31 listed putative sexually antagonistic genes. The ratios of Fb/Md genes to Mb/Fd genes for functional genes and pseudogenes were different with marginal significance (χ2 test: P=0.076).
