Mucous liquid secretion responses of gut-corrected CF and non-CF porcine bronchi. Bronchi, dissected as intact tubes from pig lungs, were cannulated and immersed in Krebs solution at 37°C. Bronchi were treated with the indicated secretogogue. Secreted mucous liquid was collected from the airway lumens after 2 h and weighed to determine the volume. Secretion rates were calculated and normalized to airway surface area and time. Bars represent means ± SE. *Significant difference (P < 0.05) from non-CF airways.
