Cad6B proteolysis provides transcriptional regulatory feedback to positively impact cranial neural crest EMT. Cad6B proteolysis reduces full-length Cad6B protein levels and generates shed NTFs and CTF2s. CTF2 transactivates multiple EMT effector genes, including Snail2, which in turn represses Cad6B transcription. Altogether, this regulatory circuit promotes cranial neural crest EMT.
