Second order scattering correction of the computed weighted dose projection (p) of a 5 × 5 cm2 6MV photon field. Due to scattering, the uncorrected weighted dose projections (dotted line) are overestimated in low-light regions (A) and underestimated in high-light regions of the scintillator (B). The calculated weighted dose projections were corrected using Eq. (2c) (dashed line) so that they matched the expected weighted dose projection calculated using Pinnacle3 (solid line).
