PHD2-siNP scaffolds featured (A) improved overall tissue vascularization as visualized by Col IV IHC, along with (B) more mature vessel formation as denoted by α-SMA IHC. PHD2-siNP scaffolds also (C) had increased cellular proliferation as visualized by Ki67 IHC, leading to (D) an overall increase in tissue infiltration into implanted scaffolds (mean ± SEM, n = 7 independent animals, *p<0.05).
