Ice-recrystallization inhibition was assayed in buffer controls and crude cell lysates (A) as well as apoplast extracts (B), from wild-type plants and knockdown lines (miRBdIRIa-d) after annealing at −4°C for 24 h, at a total protein concentration of 0.1 mg/mL. Ice crystal morphologies (C) were tested at 0.5 mg/mL of total protein collected from crude cell extracts. All assays were performed in triplicate.
