An mAb recognizing CAIII. SDS-PAGE and Western blotting showed that CP3, an mAb originally raised against smooth muscle specific calpon in 1 (Jin et al., 1996), strongly and specifically recognizes bovine CAIII (one of the commercial SDS-gel molecular weight markers in the L70 set from Sigma) and CAIII in mouse liver, white fat and soleus muscle. Mouse bladder, heart, and fast twitch skeletal muscle EDL were negative as expected.
