Figure 4. Role of HasR on bacterial burden in mice during acute infection.

Mice were infected intranasally with 10⁸ CFU of PAO1ΔhasR and the parental PAO1 strain. Bacterial burden were determined in the nares and lung 16 hours post infection. Lung were resuspended in 1 ml PBS and nasal washes were performed with 1 ml of PBS. Data are represented as number of CFU detected in the total volume of sample. Experiments were performed with 6 mice per group and four technical replicates. Data were analyzed using a two-tailed student t-test and the software package Graphpad Prism. Statistically significant differences are denoted with asterisks (*p < 0.05; ***p < 0.0001).
