Eyes were classified according to the severity of KCS at presentation into mild–moderate (A; n = 15, STT >4 mm/min) or severe (B; n = 9, STT ≤4 mm/min). The Wilcoxon matched pairs test was used to compare scores at BL and after treatment with MSCs; *p < 0.05 or **p < 0.01.
